A $10 5K run that is friendly to beginners and veterans. To keep the cost low, there are no finishers, medals, or T-shirts. So just come run or walk and enjoy the sites of our state tree in bloom! The starting and finishing line will be at Big Spring Park and the course will be hilly, but beautiful.
The first 150 entrants will receive a free dogwood tree. All proceeds from the race go to fund local active lifestyle projects* in Neosho.
Awards will be given for overall and for the top three in each age group. Age groups include 10 & under; 11 to 14; 15 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; and 70+. The Delynn Kuhn Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to the highest scoring male and female runner.
Score will be determined by the runner’s age minus their finish time (e.g. a 75-year-old runner finishing in 40 minutes would score 35 points).
* Recent projects funded by the Dogwood Run include the bike maintenance stand and air pump at High Ground mountain bike trail head, six new “bike Neosho” bike racks, new picnic tables to replace those that were originally destroyed in flood, and the 100 dogwood trees that were planted at Big Spring Park and Morse Park.
